City of San Marcos | San Marcos Creek Project 

The San Marcos Creek project adds much-needed infrastructure to relieve flooding risks, preserve creek habitat, and improve mobility through this area. Due to the loss of the City’s principal engineer, Villa Civil was hired to quickly step into the role of project manager, providing an extension of City staff services. Villa Civil was responsible for overseeing day-to-day tasks, ensuring that the project budget and schedule delays were minimized. Specific tasks include working with the City’s Financial Department to request grant reimbursements, working with the City’s attorney to address and mitigate litigation against the City, working with the public relations partner to resolve public inquiries and inform the public about major milestones and updates, and working with the construction manager to process change orders, approve project decisions on behalf of the City.
