City of San Diego | Stormwater Asset Management Optimization 

Villa Civil staff have been contracted to evaluate and analyze the City of San Diego’s catch basin cleaning and street sweeping programs annually to develop a plan that will provide recommendations to effectively optimize efforts to achieve Water Quality Improvement Plan (WQIP) goals. This project requires specialized expertise to evaluate the City’s existing drainage structure inventory and to develop and frequently update a comprehensive database that manages an inventory of about 55,000 structures. The project includes tasks such as field verification to confirm structure locations, data compilation, GIS analysis, including updating and reconciling a digital database, mapping efforts, coordination with the client’s staff to integrate the digital database into the client’s interface seamlessly, and providing recommendations for cost-saving strategies. Live project dashboards were also developed to assist the City in managing field staff, tracking work orders, and compiling maintenance and removal quantity data.
